If you charge more but offer nothing more than the others, that's obviously going to fail. That's a valid business plan, but if you do it, you have to offer a significantly higher value proposition than the competitors.
I guess the rationale is that they want a smaller number of users who pay a higher amount. Its one of the most expensive notes apps out there. I already felt that Evernote was absolutely at the top of what I would pay, even if it functioned as I wanted it to (it was mostly functionality rather than price that stopped me using it). Im not a fan of that behaviour, but its commonplace in sales, my mobile and broadband providers both do the same. I had a couple of years in a row of saying I intended to cancel my subscription to get a discount. I stopped my sub already, but when I log in to check the price (why do I have to log in to check the price, by the way?) its still listing the same as it was at the end of last year.Įvernote has long had a history of offering discounts on a per-user basis.
Questions: have others had these price increases? Does it vary from person to person, with Evernote working in mysterious ways, and that’s why they don’t list anything on the website? I know there’s been a lot of discussion about this and I obviously haven’t kept up. The App Store lists in-app purchases for annual premium for $84.99, but there’s no price for professional. When I got to the billing page it looks like the price for the professional plan has/will go up for me next year, to AUD$150ish.Įvernote no longer lists pricing on their website, which is worrying. I think I must have been on legacy Premium before. My annual plan went up significantly this year (I never received any email / warning of this).
